Biography

Stephanie Huntington serves as an Associate Director in Academic Support & Retention and has been a part of the team since January 2019. In her role, Stephanie helps to fulfill the office mission of serving the campus community by leading innovative, research-informed, and equity-based educational opportunities to help undergraduate students thrive through the following responsibilities:  

  • Coordination of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) and the Peer Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) course, including SI Leader, PLUS Leader & ARC Receptionist hiring & training, program-specific marketing initiatives, campus partner collaboration, student supervision, and more.  
  • Oversight of the Learning Assistant (LA) program
  •  Supervision of the Academic Support & Retention receptionist team.

Prior to her role in Academic Support & Retention at Iowa, Stephanie has supported students in their transition to college through work in academic support programing and admissions at a handful of 4-year public institutions. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with minors in Business Administration and Human Relations from the University of Iowa. Additionally, Stephanie received her Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.
