Biography
Osei Akomeah serves as the Academic Support and Retention graduate assistant for the First Gen Hawks program at the University of Iowa. In this role with the supervision of Brody Stanford, he supports various facets of the program, including meeting undergraduate peer mentors, assisting with weekly seminars and other FGH program organization. His commitment to student success and motivation is a driving force in his work, helping students achieve their goals and encouraging those who have faced setbacks to persevere.
 
Prior to joining the University of Iowa, Osei worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Religion and Human Values at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. His dedication to supporting students extends beyond his professional roles; he co-founded the Good Lead Foundation in Nsuaem, Ghana, a nonprofit aimed at guiding and inspiring young individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams.
